Why Use Us?
We have been offering The Learner’s EdgeSM to teens since 1988. At the end of every class students are asked to evaluate their experience and make suggestions for improvement. We have often followed some of those suggestions. The final question on the sheet is, "Why did you take the class? Did your parents recommend it?" The most common answer is some version of, "My parents made me take it, but I'm glad I came." All students also are tested in reading speed and comprehension at the beginning and at the end of the course. Look at combined class averages for the thousands of students who have taken the course since the summer of 2000. The graph shows their average speeds in the two pre-and the two post-tests in the Reading Speed Results, average comprehensions in the Comprehension Results, and their confidence with personal study skills in the Study Skill Confidence box.
